| I have a '06 Goldwing (without GPS). The problem on this machine, it is that as soon as it grows dark you do not have any more access to the Info and Setup buttons. All buttons are enlightened there except those! So, at night for example, you do not have the right to know the outside temperature !! Having stopped very early my lessons of Braille, I had some to seek by touching these rotten buttons enough as soon as the light was not any more with go. That's why I had the idea to try to locate them by giving to them a light behind, light which would infiltrate between the buttons and which would enable me to locate them. |

RELEASE #1 I found the solution in a large store. I found that, ie blue leds for cars of youngs.
After having striped the plastic a little (So that the adhesive adheres well), I stuck the leds to the adhesive hot on both sides of the hole for the ignition key. (Put mouse on pic)
THE RESULT Everything is ok! I know where are my buttons, even during black night!
THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RING TWICE That's my problem in fact. As I did for my GPS mounting or for my leds lights, I always have to do it twice as so as to obtain what I wanted to do. But finally, during winter, it's goog to have someting to do, and if the result is better than it was... it's a good thing. So let's go! I bought 4 green leds, 2 red leds, 2 blue leds and 8 resistances (470 Ohms). That's always the same thing. You have to weld the resistance to the + of the led (The longest part) and you also have to isolate it.
When the leds are assembled, you have to take the Dremel as so as to make 3mm holes in the dashboard. I choose to put green led under the four buttons and a red led and a blue led (Hot and cold) along the potentiometers. Then you put the leds and you cement them with hot glue. Be careful not to glue the buttons or the potentiometers. If you do, they won't work any more! Then you only have to weld wires
As so as to finish, I added a connector for mounting/dismounting and I also add a resistance on power supply because the leds where too much lighting.
